:: first day at work :: And so, the day has arrived where Ms. Ellie Chua goes to work. :) ********************************************************** I should start from the beginning, yes? :) Okay, well first of all, i took the danged KTM. HAHA. It was quite easy, really. I always associated trains as transport to go PLAY or go SHOPPING, times has changed. *shakes head* Darling Addy teman-ed me all the way and helped me find my dad's office. HAha. I'm hopeless i tell you. I've been to my dad's office only so many times and i STILL don't remember how to get there. I do now, though. :) Ok, i don't exactly work for my dad. I'm just working at his office where another guy runs it. I shall call him CK, just in case this people perasan-ly google their own name. This is for safety purposes on MY behalf. *grin* Well, my boss seems really nice. Seen him at home discussing "important" matters with my dad, so, a familiar face he is. :) He explained what the company is all about, our goals, visions, and ehm, well, "driving safety golden rules". Heh. I'm working for a logistics company. What do u expect lah?? It's quite interesting really. The whole movement of trucks and all. Hehe. Luckily, i'm not required to DRIVE anywhere. *smiles widely* Hmm..my dad's "star worker" is not as bad as i thought she was. In fact, i think she's really nice. Hee. We get along fine. She tells me what to do, and i do it. *grin* Today's task didn't consist of hard labour. >.<" I have my own computer, and she put a phone beside me where i answer and say, " Hello, CKJ Logistics. Miss Chua speaking." *claps hand gleefully* I answered the phone ONCE today. HAHAHAHHAHA. Hmm, all i had to do today was key in some data regarding the movement of transports...you know, where and when "my" drivers load and discharge their cargo. This particular company handles dangerous liquids. Chemicals that we learn in chemistry you know! For example, hexane, argon and methanol are the few that are going to be transported tomorrow. Wheee! CK gave me a few hmm, leaflets on the tanks that the company owns. Big things they are. >.<" After that, i followed "star worker" to the banks to learn how to do some transactions. I know how to bank in a cheque now. Hehe. If YOU guys already know, shut up. I only learnt today so jangan bising. Oh, and i learnt how to use the photocopy and fax machine too. Woot. Ellie is now technologically savvy as well. *winks* Hehehehe. The journey to the bank was well, quite a tiring one. It involved WAITING and WAVING at taxis which did NOT want to take us to the bank. Damn bodoh. It's so bloody hard to get a taxi here man. There i was thinking, oh, got a lot of students, sure taxi's menyibuk here lah. Mana tau, this taxis all tolak business. Cis. Anyway, we DID manage to get a taxi. A chinese fellow. This is the odd yet cool thing. This was the first time i sat in a taxi and instead of hearing the radio or well, NOTHING....i heard christian worship. YUP!! The guy was playing a worship cassette from this pastor from Singapore. I forgot what church ady. But i was like, WOW. God's grace is truly amazing. After waiting under hot sun for taxis, we got one that came with a built-in preacher. WHoa. So cool. :) I was talking to him about where i go to church and all, and we talked about God and after all that, he charged us a low fare. "Star worker" being more experienced and all was like, "Kam hou geh? Usually costs RM8 from Bali to Southern Bank." He charged us RM5. WHEE!! Well, before we left for the banks, CK asked "star worker" to take me somewhere nice for lunch. Hehe. KimGary it was. :P "Star worker" goes there often and so must i. LOL. Had my usual cheese-baked rice, yummy. :) I feel damn fat now but wat the heck. I did a little more data entry and a teeny-weeny bit of filing when we got back. On the way back, however, we got the crappiest of all taxis. One whom i've nicknamed "Crappy Cabby". Thought it sounded a little like "Krabby Patties" from Spongebob Squarepants. HAHAHAA. "Star worker" was asked to classify invoices according to trucks, but now, I have to do it. Quite fun lah. ( i know i've gone mad!) She said as long as i dumped them into proper files, it was fine. I arranged them by dates. If only my own notes were THESE organised. >.<" I prolly would've been able to sell them for RM50 at college. Rip-offs. *smirks* Hmm, well that pretty much was my day at work. I did however, panicked about how to go home coz i couldn't remember which train to take. I was momentarily blank. *curses stupidity* I had to call Addy asking her, "Which train platform i should be taking ar?? Which side were we at??" Sigh. Hopeless. Anyway, i managed to get to Subang and got sun-burnt on the way. My genius mom made me walk to the bus station opposite Parade under the blazing hot sun. Verrryyyy goooood. *thumbs-up* I've never felt so ridiculously incompetent to ride a train on my own. I've never felt so independent before, considering that i DID get home in one piece. I'm officially not spoilt anymore. ^_^ *cheers* Posted by born2smile at 06:58 pm
